About the Author
Yang Yang has been a language teacher since 1999. Her students have won numerous awards in national English competitions in China. In 2006, she received her MA degree in Applied Linguistics from Ohio University with an Outstanding Language Teaching Award and an Outstanding Research Award in Second Language Acquisition. Then she did two years’ PhD study in Chinese Linguistics at University of Arizona. She has been teaching Chinese at different universities and local Chinese schools in the US since then and loved by her students. Currently she is an invited writer and editor for Little Pipa, an Educational Magazine for young Chinese learners in the US.

Yang Yang was born and raised in Hefei, China. She has been a language teacher since 1999. Her students have won numerous awards in national English competitions in China. In 2006, she received her MA degree in Applied Linguistics from Ohio University with an Outstanding Language Teaching Award and an Outstanding Research Award in Second Language Acquisition. Then she did two years’ PhD study in Chinese Linguistics at University of Arizona. She has been teaching Chinese at different universities and local Chinese schools in the US since then and loved by her students. Since 2012, she has also been an invited writer and editor for Little Pipa Magazine (《小枇杷》), and wrote the Chinese Character Series and the Chinese Idiom Story Series (中国文字系列、成语故事系列等) with pen names 易易, 木鱼, and others.
